Tools

Three tools. That's it.

Pick one, draw on the page, switch when you need to. Drawings save automatically, per URL. Come back tomorrow, they're still there.

Pen

Margin notes in black, white, red, or blue. Ink starts white on dark pages so you can read it.

Highlighter

Yellow, green, or pink for sentences worth keeping. Your pick is saved per tool.

Eraser

Tap a stroke to remove it, or drag across several. Clean.

How it works

The Pencil draws. Your finger scrolls.

With an Apple Pencil, drawing works the way you expect: the Pencil draws while your finger scrolls and taps like normal, and links keep working. No Pencil? Tap the hand button on the toolbar to draw with your finger. It stays on until you next use the Pencil.

Pencilmark runs entirely inside Safari. No separate app to switch to, no screenshot-and-markup flow. You draw right on the live page, and drawing stays on as you browse until you turn it off.

Nothing leaves your iPad.

Your drawings are saved in Safari's local storage on your device. We can't see them. We don't want to.
