Why people switch
The most common complaints about Invoice Simple are the invoice caps and the price going up.
On the Essentials tier, you can send 3 invoices a month. Most contractors send more than that. The next step up costs $14.99 a month, which is already the full lifetime price of Paid.
Price increases are the other problem. Multiple App Store and Trustpilot reviewers describe their subscription price going up without warning. One reviewer reported their annual price rising from $55 to over $200 during the time they were a customer. Another was moved from $5.99 a month to $9.99 without choosing to upgrade.
With a subscription, the price can go up at any renewal. With a one-time purchase, the price you paid is the price, and the app works whether or not you ever open the App Store again.

- No online payment collection. Paid prints your payment details (bank account, Venmo handle, etc.) on the PDF. Your customer pays you directly. The app never processes a payment.
- No cloud and no web version. Your invoices live on your phone. You can't access them from a computer.
- No recurring invoices. Each invoice is created one at a time.
- No expense tracking or time tracking.
- No multi-currency picker. Amounts display in your phone's regional format.
