How to Write a Plumbing Invoice
List your business details and the customer's name, give the job an invoice number and a due date, then put each part, the labor, and any service-call fee on its own line. Subtract any deposit the customer already paid, add the tax, and show the balance due with how to pay.

The 7 parts of a plumbing invoice

The header
Put your business details and license number, if you print one. Add the customer, the job address if different from billing, an invoice number, and the dates.

Parts
Give each part its own line with a short description, the quantity, the unit price, and the line total.

Labor
Add a line for labor with the number of hours and your hourly rate. If you charge a flat price, use that instead.

Service-call fee
If you charge a service-call fee, put it on its own line so the customer can see it.

Deposit
If the customer paid a deposit, show the amount and the date you received it. Subtract it from the total.

Tax and total
Add each tax on its own line with the rate and the amount. Show the subtotal, the tax, and the balance the customer owes.

Payment terms
State how to pay, who to make checks payable to, and the due date. Include the invoice number as a reference.
