Short version
Passage does all of its work on your iPhone or iPad. No account. No feed. No tracking. No analytics. No server of ours. The App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected," because there is nothing to collect.
Where your quotes live
Every quote you save, with its author, source, page, labels, and note, is written to a store on your device. Nothing is uploaded and nothing is copied to a server we run. We cannot read your library, and there is no dashboard anywhere that shows it.
You can take your quotes out at any time. Export writes a CSV file that you save or share wherever you choose. Deleting the app deletes the library with it, so export first if you want to keep a copy.
Voice and camera
Speaking a quote uses the speech recognition built into iOS, and it runs on the device. Scanning a page uses the camera and Apple's on-device text recognition. Passage asks for the microphone, speech, or camera permission only at the moment you first use that capture method, and each one has a clear state if you say no. Photos you scan are not added to your photo library and are not kept after the quote is saved.
No tracking, no third-party code
The app contains no analytics tools, no crash reporters, no ad frameworks, and no third-party libraries. It makes no network requests for your quotes. It is built with Apple's SwiftUI, SwiftData, Speech, Vision, WidgetKit, and StoreKit and ships with no external dependencies.
The widget
The home-screen widget reads one quote at a time from the same on-device store. It fetches nothing from the internet, and the quotes it shows are only ever your own.
Your purchase
The one-time purchase that removes the 50-quote cap is handled entirely by Apple's StoreKit. Apple processes the payment; we never see your card, your name, or your Apple ID. The app only learns whether the purchase is active on your device.
