iOS app for quilters & sewists
Fabric math, in fractions.
You're at the fabric store. The bolt is a different width than your pattern calls for. How much do you actually need? This app does that math, and gives you the answer the way fabric gets cut: 1 7/8 yards, not 1.875.
Four calculators
One app, four answers.
Each calculator has its own screen. Open it, change a number or two, get a result. Every field has a default so you can get a quick answer without filling in everything.
Fabric Width Converter
Your pattern says 45-inch fabric, but the bolt is 60 inches wide. Enter both widths and the yardage. The app converts it. Optional seam allowance for quilting or garments.
Quilt Backing
Enter quilt dimensions and bolt width. The app picks the layout that wastes less fabric, tells you how many panels, and writes out cutting instructions.
Binding
Enter quilt size and strip width. Get the total binding length, number of strips to cut, and fabric yardage. The 12-inch joining allowance is built in.
Garment Yardage
Pick a garment type and size range. Get a yardage estimate for both 45-inch and 60-inch fabric. Data from standard pattern company charts.
Results you can use
Fractions, not decimals.
Fabric gets cut in fractions at the cutting table. So the app shows fractions. Every result rounds up to the nearest 1/8 yard. You'll never have to convert 2.625 into something you can actually ask for at the store.
Privacy
Nothing leaves your phone.
The app works offline. It doesn't connect to the internet. There's nothing to sign into and nothing to sync.
